Foundation Relations/Grants Specialist

POSITION TITLE: Foundation Relations / Grants Specialist

This position will provide leadership for the Foundation Relations / Grant support efforts for Boys and Girls Homes and Thomas Academy Charter School. The successful candidate will develop and maintain an on-going foundation relations program which embraces identification, cultivation, relationship development, record-keeping and recognition of funding individuals and organizations. Additionally this position will serve as Federal Programs Director for Thomas Academy, the BGHNC on-campus charter school, supporting all DPI PRC funding codes and seeking foundation and donor funding opportunities to support the program and operations of Thomas Academy. Position will provide assistance with long-range strategic planning and annual budget preparation. May be involved in representing BGHNC at Civic Club, Community and organizational functions as needed. Will serve as an integral part of the Development Team and will participate in general development functions as needed.

Experience: Bachelors’ Degree in human services, business, Journalism and/or English writing field. Master’s Degree is preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in writing grants and/or fund proposals expected. Experience writing for children’s behavioral/mental health or child welfare is a plus. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Must be able to analyze complex data, develop reports and come to appropriate conclusions.

Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Extensive retail experience a plus.
