If you love a lazy river in the heat of summer, you'll get fired up about this event! The FireQuacker 3000 Duck Races will benefit Boys & Girls Homes programs of care this summer as 3,000 ducks are released in lazy rivers on both sides of the state.
The FireQuacker 3000 Rubber Duck Race West will be 11 a.m. Aug. 22 at the City of Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks in Winston-Salem. The FireQuacker 3000 Rubber Duck Race East will be at 4 p.m. on Sept. 6 at Jungle Rapids off Oleander Drive in Wilmington. All duck race tickets are $10 each, and the winning ducks at the races get cash prizes of $100 to $500.
