Boys & Girls Homes is proud to welcome Pamela Young-Jacobs as the new Chief Mission Officer to lead our Development department. She is the first Native American woman to hold the CMO position at BGHNC. With a strong record of leadership in community and economic development, Pamela most recently served as Director of the Small Business Center at Southeastern Community College, where she also held the role of Regional Director for the Sandhills region, overseeing programs at seven community colleges. Under her leadership, the Center rose significantly in statewide rankings and expanded its impact through counseling, training, and business development initiatives.
Pamela is well-suited for this moment of growth in Boys & Girls Homes’ history, said BGHNC President & CEO Marc Murphy.
“She is so connected to the local and regional community and businesses. Her ability to expand our relationships with many different partners in North Carolina is a perfect fit for the mission of Boys & Girls Homes and for helping children and families,” he said. “Plus, she is just a joy to be around and will work well with our staff and youth.”
Pamela brings more than 25 years of innovative experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising and program development. She has been recognized for her ability to build partnerships, secure grant funding, and create innovative opportunities for youth, families and small businesses. Pamela’s career is rooted in servant leadership and a passion for empowering underserved communities to thrive. She is also the first female Assistant Chief of the Waccamaw Siouan Tribe.
In her new role, Pamela will focus on strengthening donor engagement, expanding mission-driven programs, forging new business relationships and supporting existing civic club connections, while ensuring the organization’s long-term sustainability.
Welcome, Pamela!
