Fall Highlights

  • 2024 BGHNC Board of Trustees Retreat

  • BGHNC staff dressed up for the second annual campus Halloween that included a Trunk-or-Treat event featuring 8 civic clubs and community groups. 

  • Summer 2025 Foster Care Appreciation Party at White Lake Waterpark

  • The Brighter Futures Breakfast Committee of the Sandhills formed in Summer 2025 to create a "friend-raiser" donor breakfast at Pinehurst and continue fundraising for Boys & Girls Homes into the future. 

  • The Board of Boys & Girls Homes gave a special memoriam and tribute to the family of current board member Jess Hill after the death of his father James Earl Hill, Jr., a longtime BGHNC Board member and supporter.

  • FireQuacker 3000 East Race helpers BGHNC President Marc Murphy, Director of Gift Planning Ray Cockrell and BGHNC Board member Scott Stephenson.

  • Paul Elswick of the Christian Motorcyclists Association thanked the crowd of motorcyclists who came to the 4th annual CMA ride for BGHNC in September 2025. 

  • The two FireQuacker 3000 races in the West and East in North Carolina this year raised more than $101,000 enabling our campus to purchase vans to get children to their appointments.

  • Thomas Academy benefactor and namesake Grace Thomas, receiving a token of appreciation from BGHNC president Marc Murphy.

  • Whiteville Chief of Police Paul Rockenbach speaks to Thomas Academy students about the dangers of vaping in Fall 2025.

  • Carolyn's Kaleidoscope Child Advocacy Center workers Nicole Thompson, Lauren Geiss and Director Danielle Nolan speak about their work with radio stations in the Sunrise Communications station in Wilmington. 

  • Owner of Black's Tire Ricky Benton speaks to the sold-out crowd of golfers at the 2025 Black's Charity Golf Tournament in September 2025, which raised its largest amount yet for Boys & Girls Homes -- more than $272,000!

  • Boys & Girls Homes employees gathered for a fun field day together in Fall 2025.
