Erica Hughes has been named Chief Financial Officer of Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina.
Prior to joining Boys & Girls Homes, Erica built a career spanning more than 15 years in accounting and finance, with much of her experience focused on auditing governmental and nonprofit organizations. Her extensive financial background and experience in the nonprofit sector provide a strong foundation for her new role, where she will oversee the organization’s financial operations and support its financial strength and long-term sustainability.
Erica joined Boys & Girls Homes earlier this year as Director of Community Engagement, where she has worked closely with civic clubs, community organizations, donors and other partners across the organization’s broad network of supporters. The relationships developed during her time in the role have given her a unique perspective on both the mission of Boys & Girls Homes and the important role these partnerships play in supporting the children and families the organization serves. A search will begin soon to hire a new Director of Community Engagement.
As Erica transitions into her new role, the Boys & Girls Homes Resource Development team will provide coverage for civic club meetings, community engagements and partnership activities to ensure continuity. She said she values the relationships formed during her time as Director of Community Engagement and hopes to remain involved in engagement opportunities as her new responsibilities allow to ensure these important partnerships remain well-supported throughout the transition.
