Save the date and buy your ducks for the FireQuacker 3000, a fundraiser to replace our aging campus vans that are no longer viable. The FireQuacker 3000 Duck Race West will be 11 a.m. Aug. 21 at Winston Waterworks in Winston-Salem -- the same location as last year. The FireQuacker 3000 Duck Race East will be 4 p.m. Sept. 5 at Jungle Rapids in Wilmington. 

Last year, thanks to the generosity of folks in civic clubs across the state who gave to the FireQuacker, we were able to raise more than $50,000 to purchase two new vans for campus. These vans take our residential youth to all of their therapy and medical appointments as well as their recreational outings and to court. We're hoping that this year's FireQuacker helps us replace the remaining three vans that are about 20 years old.
